Over the Holy Week break, I joined my family on a trip to Hokkaido in Japan, hitting cities such as Sapporo and Otaru.
I didn’t really plan to do any art supplies shopping because it was a guided tour but I still managed to find some treasures, both ones that I’ve been looking for and ones that I didn’t expect I’d even see there.
I’m headed for a quick trip soon, and as per usual, I bring a bunch of my art materials.
It used to be that I’d bring bulky items with me and never get to use them, but this time around, I’m gathering my smallest materials and bringing just the essentials. And yes, try my best to actually journal my way through the trip.

I’ve been getting quite a number of questions on Instagram about the materials that I like using and would recommend, and I’ve been wanting to create this list since last year anyway, so I decided to compile everything for anyone who’s interested.
This did take a while because for the last few months, I kept adding to the list and it always felt like it wasn’t ready for sharing. But enough of that! I can’t keep procrastinating, right? I’ll just have to surrender to the fact that this list is always going to be flexible and I should just add to it whenever I find a new material that I love.
So without further ado, here are my beloved materials and recommendations!
February has come and gone! And now it’s another new (and hopefully just as exciting) month for 2015. I still can’t believe it, to be honest, because it just feels like time is going by so fast. And yes, February is the shortest month of the year, but it certainly didn’t feel that way with all the wonderful things that happened.
December 2014 didn’t bring a lot of good things (as some of you may already know) so it was hard to pick my favorites that month, so I thought I’d combine it with January 2015’s favorites. January was definitely much kinder, allowing me (and I’m sure a lot of others) to refresh and look forward to the new things that a new year brings.
This giveaway is long overdue, as I was supposed to have done it before the new year. That plan didn’t pan out, but I’m not scrapping the idea!
I thought that the new year would still be a good reason to let you guys know how much I continue to appreciate your support and encouragement!
I decided on THREE SETS OF PRIZES, so that means there will be THREE DIFFERENT WINNERS! I really wanted to extend the prizes to as many of you as possible. If I could, I would have a prize for all of you. Maybe in the future. But for now, there will be three winners, and I hope that a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone of you will be enough!
First of all, I just want to thank everyone who read my previous blog entry on the lessons I learned in 2014 (a special shoutout to those who took the extra time to leave a comment). It’s one of the scariest entries I’ve ever written and published because I also revealed a lot about myself in there, including failures and aspirations.
Secondly, to anyone who’s wondering, I’ve decided to forego making a December 2014 Favorites canvas because there weren’t really a lot of favorites last month. Instead, I’m going to be combining that with the January 2015 Favorites. So watch out for that at the end of the month!

Anyway, this new year, I’ve decided to be more prolific and disciplined. That’s why I took on not one, not two, not even three, but FOUR different 365 projects.
I thought I was going to hit a home run all the way to the end, but as life always does, 2014 decided to end with a huge upset of the status quo.
But I promised myself that I’ll always try to look at the brighter side of things, and remember that 2014 was a year of courageous firsts, open doors, and exciting adventures.
Being more positive, more than I’ve ever been my entire life, has opened my eyes to the opportunity to learn from my mistakes instead of dwelling on the bad moments. That in itself is a huge lesson, but that wasn’t the only lesson I learned. I’ve decided to compile the 10 big lessons I learned last year and share them with you through this blog post. This year seems to be intent on leaving us all behind. If you’re anything like me, you probably blinked just a few times and woke up to the monster month (of extra heavy traffic for both vehicles and people, of an enormous workload that is bent on ending before the year does, of meetups that I can’t be a part of, for shame) that is December.
But despite how fast it went by, November was still great and here are my fave moments from the month that just passed!

When 2014 started, I never in my wildest dreams imagined that it would be as epic as it has been. We’re already at the tail end of November, and things still seem to be happening. Good things. And I can’t help but feel really blessed, thankful, and lucky that I’ve been given the chance to experience it, to still be a part of it.
One of the lucky opportunities that happened lately was being invited to take part in the FILEDWanderland launch, more specifically, for their 2015 Doodle and Scribble planners.
